Chrome for Linux

Ok so I have to say this is new to me! I knew that there was a Chromium project that I think emulated windows Chrome on Linux. But since I installed my new UBU 10 I found and downloaded Chrome for Linux! Now I know this might not be brand new, but it's new to me. Last time I checked was back in January for one.

Now my personal opinion of this Chrome for Linux..........Good job GOOGLE! I love it, just as fast as it's supposed to be. So for now I am hooked on Chrome for Linux. And I will continue to use it till something faster and better comes along. Way to go Google.

New Ubuntu

Ok so I have been a linux fanatic since I was 10 years old!! Go figure, I started with FreeBSD, which even though this is not linux it's based on the predecessor to linux, the god of all OSes, *nix.

So after not booting up my Ubuntu 9.04 partition for around 4 months, I had some work to do on it, so I launched right. Well I did my work then had nothing better to do yesterday, so I did some much needed system updates. Well long story short, I botched up my install and ruined my Linux partition.

So I spent a little while deciding if I wanted to repair or just copy out my home dir and re-install. Ahhh what the hey, I re-installed. So before I did that I downloaded a copy of the new Ubuntu 10! Man what an improvement!

I am now posting this morning from my new Ubuntu 10 OS! Love this thing, glad I did this than to repair and then do the network updates, would have taken forever.

This new version of Ubuntu, if anyone is wondering, has Google's new netbook technology where it's instant on!! I mean from when I select this OS under grub2, I see one line of text, then boom, for 2 seconds it's on the boot screen and then it's in. And that boot screen, is inside xwindows, it's not from the loader system anymore. So Ubuntu 10 now has instant on technology. I love it.

So I personally recommend this system to anyone out there! Plus for gamer since Steam technology is soon to release it's linux version, we linux people can run all those games we've ever wanted without having to install Crossover!! So go for it!

New windows app for Joomla! templating!

Microtronix is proud to announce we have launched a new template application for Joomla! 1.5! This new application allows any template designer to create the XML file for his template, which is the Joomla! installer file, on the fly! On the fly meaning real fast! Why go through the hassle of making an XML file by hand, and including all your template files and everything by hand, which takes awhile, when the program does it all for you!

You just enter the author info and the template name. Enter a description and then select the directory with the template files then hit done! It's that simple!

Google Voice

Microtronix now has a Google Voice number in Toledo, Ohio. Local for Toledoens but also great for everyone else. Now you can contact us from any part in the world and be transfered instantly to any of our calling centers all through Google Voice. Great little service.

Got questions regarding our services or hosting support problems? Then contact us using either our number on our site, which rings directly to any one of our support centers. Or by using the Google Voice widget here on the right hand side of the page. This voice widget is neat, don't want to waist your cell minutes, then enter your name and number there and we will call you back!

Ain't technology grand! As Google Voice gets better we plan on opening a phone number in every country where we have clients, so it rings to all our support centers from all our clients areas!!

VirtueMart Vendors Module for Joomla! 1.5

After so long of the VM community saying it couldn't be done, well not on this version at least. We DID IT!! We have made Vendors work in VM 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 and above! With a small hack in the VM files it all works like clockwork!

Since the VM component doesn't support true Vendors, then you will have to install this module then edit two files in VM to make it work right. Readme file included with module.

Check it out at the JED
